Under Tennessee’s Freedom of Speech Act (T.C.A. § 2-7-143), beginning 60 days before early voting through the day after the election, homeowners and lawful residents have strong protections to display political signs on their private property, including protection from HOA bans. Local governments generally cannot prohibit these signs during this period, subject to reasonable limits on size, number, and placement.
